Privacy Notice – how we use your information
You have asked TQ Law Limited (“TQ Law”) to carry out the conveyancing legal services on the sale and/or purchase of your new home. We are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) to carry out conveyancing.
We need some personal information from you so we can do your conveyancing. This information will be used by us, and may need to be shared with other organisations in the conveyancing process. In sharing information about you we will follow the SRA rules about putting your interests first, and client confidentiality.
Using and sharing your personal information to carry out your conveyancing is called data processing. When carrying out data processing we will follow current data protection law. This means we have to tell you the following things.

If you instruct TQ Law to carry out your conveyancing, we collect the following information about you (where relevant to your sale or purchase):

- National Insurance number
- UK tax reference number
- Bank name
- Bank account and sort code numbers
- Other asset reference numbers
- Passport number
- Driving licence number
- Debit/credit card number
- Utility bill / Council Tax reference number
- ID card number
- Land Registry title number
- Address of the property
- UPRN
- Names (adult occupiers)
- Names (adjoining owners)
- Names (guarantors of a loan)
- Names and address (adjoining lessee)
- Names and address (spouse/partner)
- Date of marriage
- Name, address, email, date of birth (attorney)
- Loan account number
- Loan redemption figures
What we use it for
- Identity verification of clients, third party contributors of funds, and the source of purchase funds
- Identification of the owners, occupiers and people with an interest in the property, and adjoining owners
- Paying off existing mortgages and creating new mortgages
- Preparing the contract, transfer and Stamp Duty Land Tax form
- Carrying out property searches

Information we use with your consent
TQ Law also uses your personal information for the following purposes, but to do this we need your positive consent:
- IP address and cookies. We will ask for your consent through a cookie notification on our website.

- We will process your information fairly and lawfully.
- We will take appropriate measures to protect your information against unauthorised and unlawful processing, accidental loss, damage or destruction.
- We will store your personal information for 15 years before it is deleted.
- You can ask for a copy of the information about you which has been data processed.
- You can ask us to correct, erase or restrict how we use your information.
- You can tell us not to use your information for direct marketing.
- You can at any time withdraw a consent given by you, as to how we use your information.
- We don’t transfer your information outside the EU.
